The Danny Audritt Award 2024

This year, the trainee chosen to receive the award in memory of Danny is Kim Harrison, a Geography teacher who completed her teacher training on the part-time course with Mid Essex ITT at Hedingham School and Sixth Form.

Kim's proud course tutor, Holly Sutton, was delighted to present her with the award at our annual awards evening. 

Holly said: "This year, I am honoured to present the Danny Audritt Award to one of my tutor group. This particular trainee’s work ethic and commitment to the profession were evident from day one. A quality that sets the best apart from the good, is the ability to reflect honestly and with humility, and respond to feedback promptly which this trainee exudes. This trainee has the most incredible work ethic and sets the highest of standards for herself, continuing to develop her subject knowledge, as well as participating in additional CPD to further broaden her practice school-wide. This trainee has held students at the centre of all she does – in observations it has been clear to see her passion for her subject and for young people and to witness the progress that her students make in just one lesson. Her professionalism is to be commended – every expert colleague that has worked alongside her have been witness to this. 

"Not only has this trainee demonstrated what a fantastic practitioner they are, but they have also managed this alongside some personal challenging circumstances as well. As a part-time trainee, this trainee has managed to keep pace with the full-time trainees, alongside parenting her young daughter, even being a trainee Quality Assurance Committee Representative. 

"We are all confident that this trainee has a bright and successful career ahead of her, having a huge impact on the lives of generations to come.
