Some might say that the teacher training year can be tough. Tough but extremely rewarding of course!
But we never forget that each individual trainee will have a busy and eventful world of their own away from the training year.
Just what is it like to be a trainee teacher? If you have found yourself looking at our website, you might find yourself asking this very question! One of our fabulous trainees from last year has taken time out to write about her experiences. Read on!
We at MEITT would like to say a huge welcome back to the start of a new academic year to all our professional colleagues. If you're anything like us, the past few weeks will have flown by far too quickly! But hopefully you will be feeling refreshed, recharged, and ready for the challenges ahead.
Today is #YouthMentalHealthDay.
After the events of the past 18 months and more, it is hardly surprising that mental health is affecting more and more young people than ever before. But even before the COVID-19 crisis, one in six young people aged 5-16-year olds reported suffering from a mental disorder.
International Literacy Day (ILD) takes place on September 8 every year to raise awareness and concern for literacy problems that exist within our own local communities as well as globally.
Every year, an MEITT trainee is chosen to receive the Danny Audritt Award.
Danny was a teacher who trained with Mid Essex ITT in 2016-2017. He went through heart surgery during his first term of training and sadly passed away in February 2018, the year after qualifying.
Mid Essex Initial Teacher Training (Mid Essex ITT) is an outstanding school-based Initial Teacher Training scheme. This means that you will undertake most of your training within a local Essex school environment. We will train you to teach at secondary school level and, after successfully completing the course, you will be awarded QTS and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) accredited by the University of Greenwich. We offer both full--time and part-time options.
We have 25 years' experience of teacher training and more than 750 teachers have trained with us during that time. We are unique in that all our training is run by experienced, practising teachers. We are based at Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form and have links with more than 20 secondary schools around Essex.
For our September 2022 intake, we have space for 60 trainee teachers. Would you like to be one of them?
