I am delighted to join Mid Essex ITT as Lead Subject Tutor for Modern Foreign Languages. I hold a joint honours degree in German and French from Swansea University and have taught in Essex for 13 years — first at St Martin’s School, Brentwood, where I also coordinated the EPQ, and for the past three years as Head of MFL at The Ongar Academy, leading the teaching of French, German, and Spanish.

Since joining Ongar, I have successfully increased student uptake at GCSE. Passionate about language learning, I have enjoyed mentoring trainee and early career teachers.

I believe that honesty, fairness, and clear communication are essential in supporting trainees’ development, helping them build confidence, resilience, and professional integrity. I look forward to supporting MFL trainees in developing their subject knowledge, pedagogy, and confidence throughout the year.
