Can you tell us a bit more about what you are doing now? am associate subject leader of History at Debden park High school. I am also the director of enrichment, this role involves ensuring all students and staff get involved with enrichment opportunities outside of the classroom.
Thinking back to your teacher training with Mid Essex ITT, can you share with us about a highlight, fond memory or funny story? My highlight was how supportive all the other history trainees were, we shared resources and ideas with each other all the time! Also being nominated for the Danny Audritt award! I was so grateful for all the support I received during my training year.
What was teacher training like when you trained? What were the buzzwords, latest theories or popular pedagogy? Adaptive practice not differentiation!
Thinking back to your teacher training, what was your key takeaway from Mid Essex ITT? To reach out for help when you need it. To know that you are never alone, there will always be people there to support you. I started my training year in adifficult position and it took some time to open up to my course tutor but when I did, I was offered so much support, I couldn’t be more thankful, it got methrough to the end!
Thinking back to your teacher training, is there anyone who supported you whom you would like to recognise or thank? I would like to thank my mentors at Hylands, Abby Marsh and Sarah Cardy, I truly owe so much to them, they gave me the confidence to be the teacher I am!I’d also like to thank Holly Sutton, my course tutor, for your unwavering support throughout!
