It's hard to believe but we are celebrating a whopping 30 years of training teachers this year!
As applications have now opened for another exciting recruitment year in the world of teacher training, we thought it would be a good time to reflect on the successes of the past 30 years of training some 1,000 teachers for schools across the county and beyond.
Mid Essex ITT, founded in 1994 and intially based in Chelmer Valley High School, Chelmsford, was one of the first SCITTs in the country. We moved to Shenfield High School in 2003 and then came to our current home at Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form in 2014. Since then we have enjoyed two Ofsted Outstanding ratings in a row: one in 2017 and our most recent in February 2024.
We are now launching a plea for your help in looking back over the highlights of the past 30 years. Called '30 stories to celebrate 30 years', we are hoping to put the spotlight on 30 former trainees throughout our anniversary year.
