Our fantastic Mathematics trainee, former Teaching Assistant Gayathri Ramachandran, has just completed her first term at The Hylands School and, after Christmas, will embark on her B Placement at Chelmer Valley High School.

She was keen to share her hugely-positive experience from applying to get on the course to the end of her first term:

My passion for teaching started at a very young age. When I was working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school, I decided to explore teacher training. I had loads of questions and Sophie was extremely helpful in answering all my questions and clarifying the doubts. After speaking to her, I had a clear view of what I was supposed to do for further training.

I had also read great reviews from previous MEITT trainees. When I applied for teacher training, my first option was MEITT. After my interview with MEITT, I was so pleased to know that I was selected in the interview process and accepted the offer.

Throughout the first term, the entire MEITT team helped me in every single aspect of teacher training. Whether it was related to PGCE, or with respect to tasks, caring about the well-being, clearing all the doubts and by arranging key speakers with great experience from the top schools. The team as a whole helped a lot and I found all the Core Training sessions very useful, interesting and helpful.

I am very grateful to the whole team and thank you very much for supporting the difficult first term and I look forward to doing well in my B placement. Thank you!
